My name is Laura Mortan from McKinney, Texas. I play 3B, 1B and some OF. I love to hit, it’s my favorite aspect of the game and I spend a lot of time practicing it. I have been playing softball since I was four years old. I have also played volleyball, basketball, tennis and I started Taekwondo when I was five. I achieved my Kukkiwon certified black belt at age 13 but have put Taekwondo on hold so I can concentrate on softball. I love to go skiing with my family every year as well. My parents are an extremely important role in my life; I don’t know where I’d be without their help and encouragement, they have supported me in all of my academic and sports decisions. I was raised in a Christian home and I’m a member at First Baptist Church McKinney. I love to go and help out with the Church activities, child care and missions.
My education is extremely important to me and is my first priority. I like school because I like to learn new things and also meet new people. I’m extremely competitive and will do whatever it takes to achieve my goals. My favorite subject is Biology; I find it interesting to learn about diseases, viruses and bacteria. I also like learning about the human body and how the brain and body interact. I’ve not really decided what I would like to study in college. I’m thinking of studying Biological Sciences, or Teaching/ Coaching softball at the high school level. Thank you for taking a little bit of time to read about me.
