Hi, my name is LaTaylah Perez. I am a second basemen and a left handed batter from Wichita, Kansas. I started playing softball at the age of six. I have played competitively for four years now. I play for the Kansas Renegades. I have played second base my whole softball career. After Freshman year was when I switched over to the left side, I just wasn’t producing the success I needed to make from the right side. I would consider this change to the left side the best decision I have ever made. I feel it has brought me much success. I am a strong believer that the game of softball has made me who I am today. This game has challenged me, not only mentally but also physically. I feel that softball will continue to help develop me to succeed in the future and how to use teamwork in whatever career path I chose.
Without my parents, I would not be where I am today. I know that I am not the only person in my family having to make a commitment to this game because my whole family has. I am very thankful and grateful to have all of them supporting me. Both of my parents always do what’s best for me. They have all around helped me become the student athlete and overall person I am today. I am currently attending Valley Center High School. I am graduating in the year of 2017. School is very important to me because even when I was younger, I have felt the urge to succeed, and I have always tried as hard as I can to get the best grades. I currently have a 4.0 GPA taking my normal level classes with a few college credit classes, such as Spanish III and Anatomy & Physiology. During my fall semester of my Junior year I took a Certified Nurse’s Assistant course through the Wichita Area Technical College. I took my state exam in October and pass, so currently I am a Certified Nurse's Assistant. The last time I took the ACT was in April and received the score of 23. When I graduate from high school, I do plan on going to medical school and become a pediatrician. I have always wanted to go into the medical field and make a difference on someone’s life for the better. I have always been very passionate about children, and always have had my mind set on becoming a pediatrician. I am also interested in sports broadcasting and athletic training. Thank you for taking the time into reading a little about me, I look forward to hearing from you. |
