32 mins · PSA- You know I only have 2 a year so here ya go! I'm amazed "daily" at the ENERGY around youth sports. PEEEEOPLE... it's a game. It doesn't define you... It's a T E A M. It's not perfect. Control what YOU can control and that is YOUR Student Athletes. Every year I see some of the greatest Coaches leaving the sport, youth and collegiate. Parents 100% are driving them out. These are NOT professionally paid coaches with certifications for their craft. Some don't even get reimbursed for mileage or their vacation time away from work. Imagine a sport where coaches had to be educated, trained and certified like a professional in the work place. With that professionalism would have to come a professional salary... but no one wants to pay... everyone wants everything for FREE... free cages, free lessons, free coaches, free tournament fees, free advice, free recruiting FREE college... Well a wise man once said NOTHING of value is FREE. Some soccer clubs charge thousands just to walk in the door, then they provide facilities and a professional coach that is trained and certified... YOU PAY FOR THAT. If it isn't perfect, FIX what you control. Don't blame and look for excuses why your child doesn't have the playing time or the coaches don't like them or whatever else we HEAR every day. Yes every day. Start today and focus on what you do have, not the lies the other tell you and then you find out the grass isn't greener. Fix YOU before you complain, compare or chase out the "volunteers" in the Sport. Find someone you trust and actually LISTEN. Listen to those who have gone before you. You're not that smart to create the answers just cause you say so. It's the same everywhere, it's not that you're in a small town or a big city or too many teams or not enough kids or too many on the roster. The excuses are RAMPANT. Fix YOU, Fix your Kid, stop trying to fix the coaches or the organizations or the college coaches or whoever else you're trying to blame. Wherever YOU go YOU go with YOU.... Focus on YOU! Ok, enjoy the comments..... On to helping those that do listen.
