Be You
Be Respectful Be You Be Respectful! Seems so easy to do, right? It is so important to consider the effects of what you do and say along with the outcome it may have on others. So many people get up on Social Media to rant, posture, and drive their own selfish agendas. Some even start off saying, “No offense, but…” So why post it? Why say it? What are you trying to gain? There are people that post to put down avenues of helping kids. Aren’t there several ways to help get these kids committed to college? Not just your way but other ways as well. Why does it have to be a contest? Tryouts for the fall just happened in our area and it appears that so many coaches are making their claim to fame for their team by putting down other coaches or organizations instead of being honest, respectful, and courteous. Everyone seems to think that if they knock down the next guy it puts them in a better light. People want to take credit for something a kid has achieved. If you want credibility, then EARN it. Do something over and over again that makes you credible. Be part of the kid’s success, but there is no need to take credit for it. Give credit where credit is earned. Tooting your own horn is sometimes putting someone else’s down. A simple thing to do is to ask yourself if this is respectful to the other person? How would you feel if this was being said about you? Or how will others perceive what is being said? Perception is reality! When you’re courteous or considerate of others then your ideas or statements are better received. Be Respectful #BEYOU Be Nice.
